Watch ad:tech NY 2009 Day Two from Livemercial Booth #1600

November 5th, 2009

ad:tech official logo for ad:tech New York 209ad:tech NY 2009 Day 2 has started off slower, sleepier than day one. Much of the sluggish start can be attributed to the New York Yankees winning their 27th World Series last night (I picked a great night to visit Times Square for the first time). The rivers of human traffic through the exhibit hall aisles of day one are softer streams, but the day is beginning to pick up now.

Over at the livemercial booth, conversations are becoming lively. Many people are intrigued by the name “Livemercial” and stop by to see what we do.

Livemercial To Showcase LiveJet Luxury Executive Aircraft at 2009 NBAA Convention in Orlando

October 19th, 2009

livejet - Dornier 328 LiveJet from Livemercial Aviation Livemercial CEO Johnny Mathis will be on hand at the 62nd Annual National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 2009 Meeting and Convention in Orlando, FL to display the first of his LiveJet commercial-to-corporate series: a 2000 Dornier 328Jet.

Known as the world’s largest civil aviation tradeshow, the NBAA connects buyers and sellers of the business aviation community and helps exhibitors market their products to potential buyers.

The featured LiveJet, currently on the market to sell, is a commercial commuter with a gulf-stream size cabin, yet has an operating cost of a small to midsize jet.

“From a pilot’s perspective it has all the latest and greatest avionics: a full glass cockpit, a handful of memory items and more redundancy than typical corporate aircraft,” said Mathis. “Made for commercial operation, it’s used to high cycle times and low down times and is able to go in and out of many airports that other corporate jets cannot, because it is never weight limited by runway length or temperature.”

The NBAA Convention will host representatives from every segment of the business aviation industry, from 82 countries around the world; in addition to offering two days of education sessions tailored to light business airplane (LBA) owners, pilots and entrepreneurs who may be considering the value an airplane can provide to their business

Livemercial, Mathis Each Pick Up an Award

October 12th, 2009

(Promotional Video for Inc. 500 || 5000)

Winning an award is always exciting. But when you collect two awards in two days from two completely different organizations, it’s hard to be anything but humble and thankful.

“Humble” and “Thankful” is how Livemercial CEO Johnny Mathis is feeling.

On Thursday, September 24th, 2009, in the prestigious Innsbrook Country Club in Merrillville, IN, Mathis was honored at the Times of Northwest Indiana’s 20 under 40” reception. An event hosted this year by The Times publisher Bill Masterson Jr., the 20 under 40 recognize individuals under the age of 40 who not only have become successful in their respective fields but who have also helped make Northwest Indiana a better place to live.

Then the following morning Mathis and his wife Lisa boarded the Livemercial jet for Washington D.C. where they were invited to attend Inc. magazine’s 5000 Gala dinner, a capstone event to the 2009 Inc. 500 || 5,000 Conference and Awards Ceremony.

A list which began in 1982 and whose elite honorees have included Microsoft and Oracle, the Inc. 500I5000 list celebrates the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S. It is no suprise that livemercial was added to the list.

Congratulation goes out to Johnny, the staff at Livemercial, and the city of Valparaiso, IN for having such distinctions brought to The Region.

And a big, heart-felt “thank you” goes out to our clients past, present, and future for allowing us to be a part of your growth and development.

To Northwest Indiana Twitters and Tweeps -

Livemercial will be hosting a Tweet-Up at Pikk’s Tavern in downtown Valparaiso, IN on Tuesday, October 6th, from 6pm-8pm (or later). We know Tweet-Ups are typically held on the fourth Thursday and not the first Tuesday of the month, but since we had to reschedule our September-hosted date we are offering Twitterers and Tweeps a second chance to get together in the month of October.

We will offer appetizers and a limited open bar for the first 25 attendees to the event. In addition to the space, food, and good times, Valparaiso-based non-profit organization Opportunity Enterprises will be displaying arts and crafts created by their members. The creations will be auctioned off at the end of the evening with the proceeds going to the charity.

The October 6th Tweet-Up is open to all Northwest Indiana Twitterers as well as those interested in Social Media events.

For more information, please leave a comment on blog.livemercial.com or – for twitter users – write a message to @livemercial.

Hope to see you there.

Livemercial Named to 2009 Indiana’s “50 Companies to Watch” List

August 1st, 2009

Each year the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the IEDC’s Small Business Development Center Network, Purdue University and the Edward Lowe Foundation release a list of Indiana’s “50 Companies to Watch.” Those companies chosen to be on the list are not only considered prosperous but also an asset to the economic development of the state.

This year, livemercial, Inc. was lucky enough to be placed on the list.

“Mid-sized companies like these named Companies to Watch make up the foundation of the Indiana economy,” said Mitch Roob, secretary of commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corp (source, NWITimes.com).

According to Indy-Biz.com, those on the Indiana “50 Companies to Watch” list will be honored with a ceremony performed at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis, IN on August 27th. Follow this link to inquire about tickets for the ceremony and dinner.

Mitch Salem, livemercial EVP of Delivery Services, was appreciative of the award,“It’s a prestigious award and we were thankful to even be considered let alone chosen...Making the ’50 Companies to Watch’ list helps validate the dedication and effort our staff gives everyday and helps reaffirm our faith in regarding the direction livemercial is heading.”

A big “thank you” goes out to all the customers, the employees, the Indiana 50 Companies to Watch panel as well as to city of Valparaiso and the state of Indiana for helping us to achieve such an honorable distinction.

Here’s to hoping we can keep up the good work.

Livemercial CEO Mathis Interviewed on PricewaterHouseCoopers Start-Up Show

July 30th, 2009

Recently livemercial CEO Johnny Mathis, Jr. was interviewed on the PricewaterhouseCooper Start Up Show with Steve Bengston. An informative discussion, Mathis discussed how online direct response has boomed since livemercial started in 2003 and how our VCC (Virtual Call Center) helped changed the way consumers purchase infomercial products. Mathis also referenced a Nielsen ratings report which found that the Direct Response industry has grown 10% in the last year despite the U.S. Economic recession. When Bengston asked about international Direct Response, Mathis pointed out that though the international markets haven’t adapted as quickly to online direct response, many segments, especially within the Asian and Latin American markets, are more and more becoming a potential lucrative opportunity.

Have a infomercial product or idea you want to take from “your brain to the bank?” Mathis directed listeners to livemercial.com where they can upload their product pitch directly.

You can download this podcast as well as listen to many other enjoyable interviews with business industry leaders by visiting the PricewaterhouseCooper Start Up Show website.

Happy 51st Birthday, Billy Mays

July 20th, 2009

Livemercial would like to take this moment to Billy Mays-shout, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY,” up to the sky in honor of the late, great infomercial king. Today would have been his 51st birthday and though our friend passed on not quite a month ago, his presence still entwines into much of what we do. Not a day goes by when we do not think of him.

Still thinking of you, buddy.

Below are some of our favorite videos Billy Mays so graciously recorded with us. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

The classic, Billy Mays at The Office.”

Billy and Anthony Sullivan giving a live Dual Saw presentation at 2009 ERA Miami. This also marked Billy’s debut into live streaming video.

And then the very next day, Billy Mays did his second-ever live streaming video performance when he pitched ZorbEEZ to the visitors.

Courtesy of the Jeff and Jer show in San Diego, CA, Billy pitches livemercial’s “Pitch It to the Pros” contest while being egged on by Anthony Sullivan.

And in the last video we were fortunate to shoot, Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan announce the 2009 livemercial “Pitch It to the Pros” Response Expo winner: Treasure Chest Pets by Lisa Lloyd.

Happy 14th Birthday, Cody Mathis

While we’re at it, jovial “Happy Birthday,” well-wishes goes out to Cody Mathis, son of livemercial CEO Johnny Mathis, Jr. Cody got to spend time with us today in the livemercial office, meet the crew, and look on as the staff shot video footage with the 50 Companies to Watch film crew for the upcoming 2009 Indiana “50 Companies to Watch,” awards banquet next month in Indianapolis.

Remembering Billy Mays

June 28th, 2009

Billy Mays, the reason many of us have grown to love infomercial products, passed away in his home this morning. As reported on FoxNews.com and confirmed by his son’s twitter stream, @youngbillymays, Billy Mays was found unresponsive in his bed.

Our hearts go out to our dear friend as well as to the Mays family. News of his passing was something we simply didn’t see coming on this sunny Sunday morning. I don’t even think it has hit us yet.

According to a couple news outlets, the family requests privacy at this time. Those same outlets report that no one in the family suspected anything as Mays returned home last night from another OxyClean shoot in Philadelphia.

Thoughts and prayers to the Mays family,

- the crew at livemercial

Here’s How I Will Best Remember Billy Mays

This was shot on September 4, 2008, the city of Valparaiso, IN officially crowned the day “Billy Mays Day.” The video was made to present the judging rules for ERA 2008, but what most of us will remember was the electric fun that went into shooting this video.

Billy Mays was a gregarious and generous man. Humble and gracious to the end. A true Amercian icon.

Billy Mays – July 20, 1958 – June 28, 2009.
