The Livemercial social media team went live on UStream today from the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, and what an event it was! Local business owners and professionals packed the room to learn about the power of social media marketing, and we brought the experience to an even wider audience by broadcasting the entire session live on our UStream channel.

Our team walked attendees through the fundamentals of social media for business — from setting up Twitter and Facebook profiles to creating content that engages your audience and drives real results. We covered best practices for building a following, the dos and don’ts of social media etiquette, and how local businesses in Northwest Indiana can use these free tools to compete with much larger companies. The questions from the audience were fantastic and showed a real hunger for this kind of practical, actionable knowledge.

Broadcasting on UStream allowed people who couldn’t make it to the Chamber in person to participate in real time. Viewers tuned in from across the region, asking questions in the live chat that our team answered on the spot. It’s a perfect example of practicing what we preach — using streaming technology and social media to extend your reach and create genuine engagement.
